Destination Hunts

What is Destination Hunts?

An overview of the Destination Hunts scavenger-hunt platform — the admin portal, the participant mobile app, and facilitator tools.

Destination Hunts is a scavenger-hunt platform by Destination Tours. Organizers build location-based (or fully indoor) hunt events in a web admin portal; players join on their phones with nothing but a display name and a 6-character team code and race through challenges — riddles, photo missions, GPS check-ins, minigames, and more — while a live leaderboard keeps score.

The three surfaces

How a hunt works

Build — create an event (from scratch or a template), add challenges organized into groups, place them on the map, and create teams. See Creating & Configuring Events.

Publish & start — move the event from Draft to Scheduled to Active. Readiness checks catch missing answers, coordinates, and starter content before you go live.

Play — players join with their team code, solve challenges, and earn points. Facilitators review photo/video submissions, answer help-channel questions, and keep the game moving.

Finish — end the event; players can still view results for 24 hours after the event ends.

  • Building content? The Challenge Types reference documents every one of the 15 challenge types and every configuration field.
  • Reusing content across events? Read Library & Shared Assets for how org-owned and global content, greater areas, and templates fit together.
  • Curious what players see? The Mobile App Guide walks through the app screen by screen.
